  20. Well,    here  it  is.  I really wanted to make this edition of
  21. the  disk  special, with nifty sounds, music, and screen wipes,
  22. but the Fates  have  other  plans.    As a result, you see here
  23. a  virtual  clone    of    the  first  three  disks, with small
  24. differences.    The  biggest  one  is  that  everything on this
  25. disk  is  pure  DOS -- no power  packing,  nothing  like  that.
  26. I want this disk to be as vanilla  as  possible so that as many
  27. people that want to can use it without ill effects.
  28.  
  29. First, a word about distribution.
  30.  
  31. This    disk,    and   its  contents,  may  be  spread  by  any
  32. means,  electronic    or  otherwise,  as  long as absolutely NO
  33. charge  is  made  other    than the cost of transmission.  This
  34. means  that  it  may  not be  sold for any reason, nor held for
  35. ransom by pay-service BBSs. If  you  run  a  pay BBS, make this
  36. file  a  free  download.    If  you  refuse to comply with this
  37. policy, remove this disk from your BBS immediately.

  39. Cost  may  be  recouped  if you are creating a copy for someone
  40. else,  but  nothing  beyond the cost of the disk itself and the
  41. price of postage.  Do not round up!

  43. I    will  be  spreading  this  disk  out through the Sky Amiga
  44. Network's SKYIFF file echo. Any  other  file  network  (such as
  45. ADS)  is welcome to spread it, too.  This disk is available for
  46. download  or  file  request  from  my  BBS,    Magic Blue Smoke

  60. Many    people  are  responsible  for  this collection, besides
  61. myself.   First     of    all,  there's  our  dear  Amiga  Echo
  62. moderator.sex.kitten, Joyce  Divina,  at  1:3612/42.0.  Without
  63. her,  this  project would have never gotten off the ground, and
  64. without  her  bright  style  of  moderation,    the  AMIGA echo
  65. wouldn't  be  the  comfortable place it is. Joyce, a big thanks
  66. and a hug!

  68. One    person   less  obviously  responsible  for  this disk is
  69. Dale  Clark,    whereabouts    unknown    --  it  was  him that
  70. collected  and  distributed    the    first   three  disks, and
  71. without them this disk wouldn't be possible.

  73. Orin     Palmer,  1:202/739.10,  is  the  one  responsible  for
  74. collecting  IFF24's,    JPEGs,   and other non-IFF/HAM pics and
  75. translating  them  over  using ADPro, as well as digitizing the
  76. occasional  flat picture or video tape for the disk.  He's also
  77. a  popular  fella  in the echo, and a close friend (such a name
  78. dropper I am!)

  80. Asha    Develder,  at 1:209/216.5, is a strong influence behind
  81. this  pic   --  besides  being  one  of  the  minds  behind the
  82. original  concept,    she's  been  pushing  this  project  more
  83. than  anyone,  posting   my  address frequently, and constantly
  84. encouraging me in this endeavor.  Double huggies! :-)

  98. Erik    contributed   two  pics, as did Jonathan.  I elected to
  99. only  include  one of Erik's pics, as they were the same thing.
  100. Jim  also  contributed    two  pics,  but  the  hi-res pic gave
  101. SuperView  hiccups.  Rodney contributed two pics, one in IFF24.
  102. Chuck  sent  me  around a dozen  pics,  different  poses, which
  103. make a neat mini-movie when played real fast :-)

  105. In    all  cases,  unless  otherwise  requested, I have deleted
  106. the  address    and   phone  numbers  from  the bios (Orin's an
  107. exception  since   we  post his in the echo all the time anyway
  108. :-)    Chuck  is  included  without    his knowledge or consent
  109. (read the bio first before flaming!) 8-)

  113. I'd    like    to    acknowledge  and  thank the authors of the
  114. various utilities used to make this disk work:

  116. HDClick:   Claude  Mueller  of Switzerland, last listed address
  117. is  2:302/445.6.       I'll be trying to contact him about this
  118. utility, both  for  reasons  of  making  a  bug report, and for
  119. reasons  of  registration.       I  strongly  encourage  anyone
  120. reading   this to contribute  US  $15  to  him,  as  I  will be
  121. doing  if he's still around.  While it's no ScalaMM, it is more
  122. than servicable.

  124. SuperView   3.11:  David  Grothe,  no  address  listed.   A $10
  125. US  shareware    fee   is requested.  Those who have registered
  126. versions prior to 3.11 do not need to register it.

  128. MuchMore:    Fridtjof   Siebert  and  Christian Stiens, also no
  129. Fido  address    listed.      This is one of the smoothest text
  130. readers I've ever  seen.  The authors request no shareware fee,
  131. but won't turn away contributions (whoever would? :-)

  133. Sound:    The    sound  player  I am using is the SOUND utility
  134. written  by    Richard   Lee  Stockton,  programmer  for Gramma
  135. Software,  and  wandering   minstrel.    I  strongly  encourage
  136. you    investigate  Gramma's  offerings,  especially  NAG  PLUS
  137. and  FRED  --  these  two utils  are  invaluable  parts  of  my
  138. workbench.       Richard  has graciously  given  me  permission
  139. to    use  SOUND  in  the echodisk, provided I send him a copy.

  142. Icons:    the    icons  I  used  on  this  disk  came  from two
  143. collections,  one   being  the Isometric Icons collection first
  144. posted  on  GENie,  the  second  from  one  of  the  many other
  145. collections I have snarfed. I  don't  remember the names of the
  146. authors of either collection, but they're really great! Thanks,
  147. guys, whoever you are!

  149. Finally,    I'd   like  to  make  a  blanket  appology  to  all
  150. the  software      authors    that  wrote  these  utilities  --
  151. none   are registered,  they  are  distributed without the full
  152. archive, and for  this I appologize.  I hope you understand the
  153. purpose behind this  disk  and  the  reason for leaving out the
  154. full archives -- space.  Any author who wrote a program that is
  155. used  for  this disk that  does  not  wish for it to be used in
  156. future  releases  of  the  disk,  please  contact me and I will
  157. desist immediately.
